I am Suzie Owens, Coach Clay Owens' wife. We are so thankful for all you have done! You backed us when Clay so desperately fought for his life. Clay put hard work on the back of the faith it took to carry out God's plan for him. He started at 660 lbs, Clay is now half the man he once was. The surgeon told us that there weren't many people who had lost so much so fast.  He has done so well. Now he is left with excess skin that is pulling at  his back. Clay needs to have plastic surgery to remove excess skin from  his drastic and life changing surgery.While he is in constant pain, he participated in the Cooper River Bridge Run just over 2 hours, which was a goal of his after having the gastric bypass. Clay and I are standing together in agreement to have this surgery. I fully believe God has a special plan for Clays life. Just look at what he allowed so far: raised $38,000.00 in 4 weeks for his gastric bypass in Dec 2009, lost 330lbs in a 15 months, and he has been an inspiration to coaches, friends and community members in his same position. Please stand with us as we get ready mentally and spiritually to take on this responsibility.  We got a miracle number 2 when the plastic surgeon said both surgeries Clay needs combined will be less than 20,000!! Praise the Lord! God allowed our whole community grow in faith as the plan unfolded last time.  Doesn't that tell us we only scratch the surface on God's blessing on our own lives?
Thank you ahead of time for all you will do in the near future. We are praying and believing to have this surgery in the beginning of the summer. Our insurance, again, refuses to cover anything. Its a lofty goal but with God's help all things are possible.
